Who are we ?

We are the

Pa. Dr. J.A.Odetoyinbo Foundation.

 For

      1. Educational Activities 

     2. Charitable Community and National Activities.

  We were launched on 13th May 2006. The same day as his Autobiograhic book ‘Quetly Affecting Lives’  (ISBN 978 068 703 3)was launched.


He has a passion for education and philanthropic deeds. His Passion about Education led to the Establishment of a Foundation aimed at Educational and Charitable Activities

 

 

Our aims are 

   Promotion of Education and educational Activities.

And 

   Charitable Community and National Activities.


The foundation will participate in activities that promote education at all levels, and community activities at local and national levels in Nigeria. We will help disadvantaged individuals and carry out community activites that promote health and improves the well being of the community.

 We encourage monetry and material donations from Individuals, other Charitable trusts and from Companies. These will maintain the funding for our activities.

Our board of trusties will over see the effective and accountable running of the Foundation.

ABOUT Dr J A Odetoyinbo.  BSc,MSc, Ph D.

                               1919 - 2009

He was born in  Osogbo and had his early education in Nigeria.  He taught in many instiutions before proceeding to study abroad (USA.) and returned to Nigeria in 1960.

He initially worked for the Oyo State government and in 1964 he started his career in the WHO (World Health Organisation,which lasted till his retirementin 1983. He was recommended to start and head National Onchocerciasis Programme. Kaduna Nigeria. (1984 – 1990) Started in January 1984. Initially a joint collaboration between the WHO and the Nigerian Government.

To those who knew him his dedication to whatever he did, work or leisure is exemplary. His meticulous attention to details is well known by colleagues and his family.

As a teacher he taught many prominent Nigerians, and as a Scientist his work in The World Health Organization on Malaria and Onchocerciasis contributed to Knowledge in these fields. He published many papers and is a recipient of National and International awards. He was generous and was always ready to help if he could. He was dedicated to his Church and to His family.
